Nice to meet you, I’m Jenn.

I grew up in Oregon (on the rainy side). In addition to Oregon, both Denver, CO and Breckenridge, CO have been home to me in my adult life. My Bachelor degree is in Business Marketing and after graduating I was sure I would never go back to school. However, when my husband went back for his masters degree I realized how much I missed learning and growing. I decided to go back to school as well, and completed my Masters degree in Counseling in 2011.

I have worked as a therapist for foster and adopted children and families, as well as children of domestic violence and divorce. I also worked as a foster care certifier for therapeutic foster homes, respite care providers and safe homes for immigrant and refugee children. Most recently I have worked as a college counselor providing mental health care, career counseling, academic support and resource navigation for our diverse community.

Throughout my roles I have become even more amazed by humans and our ability to heal, change and forge new paths for ourselves, our families and our communities. I believe that people do well if they can, and we are all a part of systems that impact how we experience and move through life. I work to create safe spaces, and am honored when others share their life with me. The bio-psycho-social model is a way of seeing humans through a holistic lens (biological / physiological, psychological, socio-environmental and spiritual). I use a variety of evidence based theories and techniques to support my clients, including: trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma informed play therapy, filial therapy, sand tray, brief solution focused therapy and career counseling.
