Nice to meet you, I’m Jamie.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon and Colorado, as well as, a Professional Special Service Provider for the Colorado Department of Education.  Currently, I am in the progress of completing a 7-month Certificate Program in Traumatic Stress Studies. I’ve been in the field of mental health for the last 13 years, starting in my undergraduate education at New York University where I got my BS in Applied Psychology with a concentration on Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies.  Wanting to do more for the mental health community I returned to school in 2016 for my MSW and obtained clinical licensure in 2020 and 2022 respectively.  I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with individuals and families to help them identify tools, resources, and strategies for overcoming patterns of trauma, while they teach me about new cultures, personal narratives, and their lived experiences.

Growing up I found myself drawn to the field of mental health as a means to help others overcome obstacles and understand how obstacles are created.  In my 13 years of working with children, youth, young adults, and their families, I have learned that too often we confine ourselves to limited beliefs of who we are and what we’re capable of accomplishing.   Through counseling I help others to identify these limiting beliefs and reframe their view of themselves and the world around them to claim the best versions of themselves.  In practice, I enjoy utilizing evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing, but as a lifelong learner, I’m always expanding my approach by incorporating new modalities such as Super Hero Therapy and numerous Mindfulness techniques.  It is my goal to learn and understand each client’s individual self-narrative and tailor sessions to their needs.
